LS1 OBS - Another Swap Down

    Well...another swap down.

I finally finished up my truck and man it feels sweet. It was a 5.7 TBI, to a 5.3, and now stuffed with a built LS1.

The process was long and a lot more drawn out, but that was mainly because of some drama with getting my engine back from a local shop...another story, another time...

Anywho, I used the Shoenfeld headers and they worked awesome. Used the exhaust that came off of my Trans Am (y pipe and cutout into a corsa muffler) and mounted the muffler where my spare tire was and dumped out the back, fabbed up an air intake with new PCV setup for cheap cheap...and thats about it. Me and my buddy modded my 5.3 harness to plug up the LS1 and routed it as best we could around the bay...all gauges are right on and its on to the next project now!

But anywho, here's some pics of the swap. I found a wicked sweet deal on a Street and Performance AC setup, so thats the icing to go on the cake

All thats left now is to clean up the rest of the engine bay and get a new paint job...but thats the easy stuff

Thanks again to all the people on the board who've helped me out...couldn't have done it without you....

    Thanks for the props guys!

No vids yet...just got her going today...nailing down the VE tables and MAF...then I'll open her up and get some video.

Here's a pic of the truck and the donor for the engine

The car is getting the 408 thats in my sig with some twin 67's.

The next step for the truck is getting a paint job and some body work. These pics are from last summer before I started the swap, but I got some wicked hail dings a while back and while doing the 5.3 swap, my hood was just sitting over the engine bay, not bolted on, and a tornado kindly placed my hood in my neighbors yard...so its jacked up in the front pretty good. Still shuts, but I figured now would be a good time to get a cowl and new style front clip...

    Anywho...thanks again guys!

DBRODS, if this doesn't hook with the caltracs and 4.10's...you may need to get ready for another 4 link kit
