anyone use the semi truck air filter

i see alot of diesel guys use this and was wondering if anyone had done it on a gas truck. i've been thinking about putting on on mine instead of bucking up for the afe stage 2 or something similar.
    pro's or con's
    it's a huge filter

or should i just get a full intake kit like afe or volant?

My question would be how dense are the fibers? I don't know jack about diesels. Do they "suck" more than gas engines do...so to speak?

never thought about that. i'd guess with a turbo it would be i have no idea.
my friend just put one on his powerstroke and if it could work good for my gas 6.0 it woudl save me a few hundred dollars
as they only cost about 30$

The filter is only a piece of the puzzle, take a look at your stock intake, between the air box and the intake manifold on the engine. A larger filter will do little when there is a larger restriction further on...

i can make the rest of it. or buy just the tube from a company.
my biggest concern was make sure the map would work with this
as far as it fitting together

i'd have to pull the entire air box and it would just sit on the fender (how most diesel guys use it) i can get some pieces that will have to clamp to my map and then use the airraid tube for the rest.
it will be pulling air from behind the headlight

im not sure if its worth the trouble. or if i should just afe stage 2
    or some other one.

i guess it would filter better, but it would probably flow about the same as stock. if you want cheap just get a drop in k and n and cut the box.
