    How is this for a 5.3 cam

    ok still searching for a cam for the lil 5.3.... Trans will be built soon and probally a 2600 - 3000 stall verter.. I have been searching all around for a cam and came across these two cams today let me know what you guys think.

    comp XR265HR 212/218 with .558/.563 lift
    or
    comp XR275HR 222/224 with .566/.568 lift

    I have the 212/218 highlift but havent fired my motor yet. once its running and broke in next week I'll let you know how it is. If you for sure plan to run a stall I'd go with the bigger of the 2 cams just because you can!

    The first cam looks very similar to the one I have, and I love it! I had it for a few months prior to the front mount and was very happy with the performance!

    07 Z71 4x4, 6.0L, 3.73s, Turbonetics T76 @ 10 psi, 75 shot, Snow meth kit, PLX DM-100 wideband gauge, Nelson tune, Comp 212/216 .557/.561 114 lsa, 60# injectors, Yank 3000, 4L80E , Magnaflow - dumped, e-cutout

    have you looked for any cams that fall in between those two? like the TSP220 http://www.ls1truck.com/forums/sale-...ant-tr224.html

    i'd buy a bigger stall and go with a 224 since youre in a RCSB!!!
    Simple: 408 on steroids!

    +1 on that! Minimum of a 3200 stall. Get the 224 on a 114 LSA.

    hey man, I got the truck running and broke in today with the comp 265 highlift. You can't hear it at all! I love it. Definately a sleeper cam. from initial driving, It hasent seen over 2500rpms but I can tel a large difference just easing into the throttle. I hope to have the break in done and tune on it by next week, I'll let you know.

    the 222/224 with a 3200 stall and spray the house down.
