    Checking in from Arkansas

I picked up a super clean '05 AWD Silverado SS about a month ago and have been looking for a place with some good info about modding it. Hopefully I'll have it ripping low 12's or high 11's this time next year. I'm already starting with a fairly fast stock truck so 13's NA shouldn't be too far off and with a 100-150 shot I should hit my goal. I've already built my transmission with servos and the Transgo HD-2 kit and I have HP Tuners but I haven't done any tuning yet...you think this will get me to my goals of a mid 13 second NA truck?

    Planned mods...
    Headers (no cats)
    Hooker Maxflow 2.5" true duals
TSP Torquer v.2 cam kit with 918 springs
    roller rockers
    roller lifters
CNC Ported LQ9 or LS6 heads
    Victor jr Intake
    100-150 shot N2O

Should be an easily attainable goal. You dont need the Victor Jr. If anything, get a TBSS intake with 90mm throttle body to help it breath better on the intake since you're planning on helping the exhaust. A good cold air induction kit will help, too. Make sure its sealed and only pulls in outside air, none from under the hood. When spraying it will be cooled by the nitrous but 99.9% of the other time it won't.

Thanks for the tip. There's a big dyno test at another forum I go to with the SS trucks and the drop in K&N was within 2hp of a full CAI kit so I was thinking of raising the size of the pipe and keeping the stock box since I already have a K&N in place. I did find a TBSS intake with 2k miles (looks brand new) with everything except the TB for $200. I might jump on it but I don't want to have to change all my injectors. I might make the intake my last mod so I'll know if it's even worth the trouble at that point.

Welcome to LS1truck! Sounds like a cool truck--but WE NEED PICS!!! Good list of mods planned... Along with that slightly built tranny, I would throw on a 3000 stall. The heads are a great idea. Either the CNC'd 317s or the 243s...they will probably be at about the same flow rate when the final $$$$ numbers tally up. The roller lifters and rockers are not absolutely necessary right now, but they are a decent idea if you are going to raise your CR with the heads.

I don't have pics yet...I'll try to get some up tomorrow. I'm at work right now so that's a negative. I figured if I changed the H/C I might as well spring for the whole valvetrain to keep everything fresh. I want something reliable not tossed together. I didn't put the stall on there but I was planning on one. I'm basicly going to start modding and when I get to where I'm happy with the NA setup I'm going to spray it...

Cool. At least you are aware of what you are getting in to... Yeah, just start modding the bitch. Make sure you get a decent tune with it. You well versed in HPT?

Not yet but I'm learning every day. I've had it available for a while but I'm letting my cousin tune away while I read up on it. He's done several 4.8s and a couple diesels.

Yeah, HPT is not that bad. I have looked at it only a few times and I have the basics down as well. You can get some good pointers from the files you can download from the HPT site.
