    6.0l engine surge

My buddy has a 6.0l LQ4 in his 04 Hummer H2. It has a surge around 1500 RPM and jumps to about 1700 rpm every few seconds. Speed is not a factor just RPM... no codes.

If his foot is in the throttle it goes away... just does it at cruise.

    Thoughts??

Almost sounds like O2 switching from lean to rich (doubt it) , or could be A/C trigging timing , vacuum leak any number of things .
