NEWBIE from College Station, TX

Wassssup guys name is Mike and I am just getting into this whole truck thing. I have worked on various imports, hondas, mitsubishis and the like. Now I have an 00 1/2 ton 4.3 5 speed. I also just aquired a full 5.3 with all accessories wiring and all. It will be going in my truck and I only have one question thusfar...will the 5 speed bolt on to the 5.3? Also will it hold temporarily until I upgrade? When I upgrade trannies do yall recommend ls1 6 speed, 4l60, or 4l80? I am sure there will be more questions and I appreciate the help!

Hey Mike! Welcome to LS1truck! Its about damn time you got a freakin truck--and good call on swapping in the 5.3L/T-56 combo!!!! Yes, the NV3500 will bolt up to the 5.3L. But only make it temporary. I know that when you eventually bolt up the T-56 (Camaro 6-speed), you will need to take of the F-body flywheel and get one for the truck... Any other mods planned for the 5.3L? It will be so much easier workng on this truck than working on those imports---trust me.
