Got my tailgate shaved and painted

Ok, well my truck has the two tone paint job, the charcoal grey on top with the pewter along the bottom, but for some reason the factory doesnt paint the bottom strip on the tailgate, so i had a buddy paint the stripe, and shave the emblems and also paint the tailgate handle and bezel and the tailgate cap to match as well. really makes the back of the truck look much better IMO.

Im going to have him paint my handles and mirriors as well. I dont have any before pics, but we all know what the stock stuff looks like.

    Heres the pics

Turned out really nice looking i think.

i must have been in the minitruck scene to long. when i saw shaved tailgate i thought you meant either you shaved her clean with a tailgate handle relocator kit or you shaved her closed and flush with the rollpan, my bad. but it does look good man. keep it up

yeah i figured some people would be thinking that. I had thought about doing a handle relocator, but just decided to keep it simple and have the stock stuff painted. Next on the list for the back is a Silverado SS rear bumper.

Looks good. Did you have to sand the handle down or did it come out that smooth with just prime and paint.

well my buddy did all the work, but i think he had to sand it alittle, along with the cap on the tailgate, just enough to smooth things out.

Thanks, that the main thing i wanted to have done beside the strip on the bottom, but decided to have the cap done also, kept going back and forth on weather or not to shave, but decided i like it, then today i seen a street scene tailgate cap that i like also.
