    Just another F'ing new Guy!

New guy from the greater Mid-South area(Mem. for those of you that don't know)

I have a few toys and have worked on plenty of other peoples toys through the years.

My current fleet includes my 89 S-10 Blazer that has run a 10.53 @ 125mph with a 1.40 short time, a 96 Formula that I bought new and has remained stock for the most part, and I just bought a 06 GMC P/U.

The p/u is replaceing the Formula as my D.D. and will also serve as a short distance tow rig for the Blazer.......this will help speed up the process of killing the 4.8 and allow me to build a 408 with out the little lady throwing a shoe at me

Anyway....hope to learn a little and shre my experiences with you guys/gals.

    Thanks,
    Lee
Barney- 89 S-10 Blazer, 355 11:1 small solid roller and a lil' gas.

06 GMC PU........4.8 and stcok....may get a few things thrown at it.

Welcome to LS1truck! Good set of vehicles you got there...man, a 4.8L as a tow rig? There are a few things you need to do to that truck to get more power (especially torque) for towing the Blazer around...

Thanks for the warm welcome guys.

Actually, my brother has a 05 4.8 truck and it tows the Blazer ok.....hell....Barney only weighs about 2800#'s.

Also, I am in the auto industry and I have been dealing with Allen @ Nelson Performance for about 2 years now.

Haha, so I am guessing the Blazer is purple...
But still, the Blazer + trailer = problems for the 4.8L. I'd say do some e-fans, pulleys, mid-length headers, CAI, a torque-based cam, and a set of 4.10 gears/posi.

The truck already has e-fans and I am looking around for a CAI(what do you guys recommend?)....I will do a pulley and exhaust.....just a lil' at a time though.

I don't think I am going to do the gears though.....I drive this thingh daily and do not want to hurt the mileage.

    But a cam........I can do a cam....

Actually....I was thinking abut a 215-219 on the intake(something aggressive like an LSK but without a whole lot of lift) and maybe a 220-222 XER on the exhaust....with a 112+2 lsa......just a thought though.
