    tcc??

1994 suburban with 2001 6.0L and 4L80e. It finally runs, thanks to David (watdog), only problem I am running into now is the gears want engage. I do not have the tcc wire connected to anything, I'm thinking this is the problem. What do I connect the TCC wire to?

The brake pedal has a wire that is powered and loses power when you step on the brake. That is what you hook the TCC power lead to.

There are 2 wires to the brake switch, one is a purple wire labeled brake switch to pcm and the other is a pink/black wire that gives 12v. I tried putting the dark blue tcc wire to both and couldnt get it. Could I be missing something else?

There should be two switches on the brake pedal.

I cant get it, I have followed every wire from the trans. Would it not be engaging because I do not have any of the connectors on the transfer case (4wd)? Also, the tac wire, I connect to one white wire and it looks like it gives 1/2 of what it should read, then I connect to larger white wire next to it and get same reading, any chance both wires need to be connected to give full reading?

One more question, what connections need to be made to the existing system after a standalone harness is installed?

Need to hook up gauges to the engine and a/c controls. That's about it.

I may have to go that route although I have been trying to avoid it. The problem is that it runs and mostly everything is working, I just can't get it in gear. 6.0L and harness was out of a 2wd truck and I am running 4wd, but I was going to deal with that later, just wanted to get it going in 2wd for now so I can get out to the dunes. I appreciate your help so far, do you have any suggestions just to get it going for now? I've been going blind on the wiring schematics.

Dumb question but did you put the bolts in the flywheel to the torque convertor? What transmission are you using, the stock 1994? If so, did you have to use a crank extension or convertor pilot extension? Is the transmission full of fluid? Did you drop the transmission oil pan for any reason?

    Just saw, stock 4L80E

Is the wiring harness and PCM from a 4L80e powered truck?

yes on the flywheel to torque converter bolts. I am using the stock 1994 because the new one i picked up was for a 2wd (anyone want it??). Not to sound like an idiot, but I dont know what a crank extension or converter pilot extension is. Fluid has been drained, put some in there to tow it some leaked out since, but probably should add, wouldnt hurt. I did not drop the trans pan.

Just said F it and bought a wiring harness, just installed. Ha, funny same problem, runs great but cant get the trans to engage. I was going to work on getting the tcc to the brake switch, still have not done that. In on top of the brake pedal, but havent got to the brake switch itself yet, still digging.

Harness is made for a 4L80e, computer is programmed for it also.
