Thread: Which fuel pump

I was looking in the part numbers thread and saw this:

Fuel system stuff:
Fuel pump module (note, will not fit in 88-95 tanks besides 4 door 95 Yukon/Tahoe): ACDelco MU146 (get it off ebay, much cheaper)
Fuel pump connector: 12167154

[/b]
Problem is I have the 88-95 25 gallon tank. So what will work?

Or would it be easier to get rid of the in tank pump, install a pickup to where the pump attatched, and run an external pump on the frame?

Also, does anyone know what size the fittings are on the main fuel line and the return line on the pickup assembly that goes in the tank? I was looking at the pure choice adapters and they have 16mm or 14mm. I'm thinking they are both 16mm, but if anyone knows for sure that would help.

I bought a walbro 255LPH off of Ebay for $99 shipped. The one that fits the 87 Buick Grand National bolts right in. I think it has a 3/8" fitting. Be sure you use the hose they supply you to hook it up. The factory one will blow out. A piece of reinforced hose is best. Double clamp all connections. Use smooth wall clamps, not those worm gear type clamps.

Thanks, I didn't seen one for a GN on ebay, but I was talking to farmtruc about a harness and he said he had the pump I need in stock.

I used the pump that Edelbrock recommends for their multiport system in the Summit catalog which I had and was going to do till I started reading about the ls based engine swaps. The pump was a Walbro and I believe it was the 255. It worked for me!
