Not too long after I got my truck a friend of mine descreened my MAF saying it would increase power and throtle response, I said ok 'cause I didn't know anything about my truck yet . Well Farmtruck said that it is this is actualy hurting my performance due to the truck running lean. This sounds pretty accurate, I still don't know that much yet. Retuning seems like a pretty expensive mod at this time. So I found a stock MAF for my truck with the screen startin at $20. I checked a salvage yard yesterday and they want $80 to $100 for it. Do you think this will work or are the MAF's specific to the truck they came on. Appreciate any Help. Sorry this is so long.

    Thanks

P.S.: I know that LS1edit is the way to go, but what do y'all think about the Diablosport Predator programmer.

Make sure you get a truck maf for your engine, they are different, to make sure you don't get something wrong i would go with the samething that was on there,

running lean isn't the main problem, some prefer to, but what's hurting you is the detonation, KR, which is sometimes caused by a lean condition.

i would go for it if it's the right maf.

    sorry for the delay.

The MAF is from a 2000 4.8L Silverado. Would this work. I have 24min from now and it is mine. I am only wanting this as a quick fix for now since I don't have the money for tuning yet. Anymore help would be appreciated.

    Thanks,
    R.

Since he is "working" ( ) as we speak, the 00 one will work on your truck and be the fix you want.

i believe the 00's had the IAT built into the maf, as long as it has that you're fine like dome said.

good luck and keep us updated.

Well I lost the auction, I think someone on this board outbid me for it.

Yeah I am from Nevada, TX it is close to Mckinney about 20min away.

I don't know what IAT is but I will be on the look out for it.

there are ppl who have it setup to bid a certain amount around 5 seconds before the end of the auction, or their friends up the price to get someone to pay more for it. Ebay = Egay
