Okay, so I'm starting the planning on my proposed swap. Looking into the emissions laws, which I am already aware of, but now I'm going over the technicalities of the swap.

Now, in CA, if I swap a motor I have to use the emissions eqipment from the new motor and there is also things that state I have to use the smog equipment from my original truck.

Has anyone done the swap and got the smog certs for it?

    What I'm looking at is.....

for an LSx swap I'll have to convert the truck to OBD2, which isn't a big deal, but its with all the other issues, like the charcoal canister and the air pumps on the truck already. Leaving the charcoal canister isn't a big deal, but I'd much rather do away with air pumps.

I might be calling the BAR tomorrow and get some specific info from them on the swap, but just wondering if anyone in CA has done it already.

    Thanks!

This CA smog stuff always makes you feel

Yeah, contact your inspection station for specifics.
