ugh, why ruin the classic looks of the older trucks? If you want the look and feel of a newer one you'd be better off buying one.
You have to be careful about your upgrades because the old dash is analog and if I remember correctly the new one is digital feed from the PCM and BMC.

Just do it and put in some after market gauges. I put a 96 dodge Intrepid dash in my 79 Trans Am. It looked great just never told any it was out of a Dodge.
