1990 C1500 PCM Ignition Wire tap.

Hey there guys, got the LQ4 installed, primed, and managed to do the initial start and check for leaks. When I tried to turn the truck off however the key off wouldn't kill the ignition. I had to cut the wire that I tapped into behind the dash to get the truck to shut off.

The wire that I tapped comes from the Ignition harness itself and is pink with a white stripe. Test light confirmed that it does get power when the key is on, and shuts off when the key is off. Is there another wire off the ignition system that I can use instead of this wire to eliminate future issues? Other than this, the motor and trans started up fine, idled great, and really woke the neighborhood up.

Tested all the wiring again and found an intermittent ground that would cause the engine to run with the key in the off position, fixed the ground and the ignition functions as normal.

Good to hear. I was about to say that wire should have it functioning as you want it to. I ended up not using that wire and ended up using a relay to power up my fuse block
