1992 k1500 5.3 swap
So I recently purchased a 5.3 to put into my truck and am going to do the swap in the early spring. The next purchase I have to make is the transmission. I need to know if my original transfer case will bolt on to a 1999-2004 4l60e transmission. I believe the transfer case is a NP241. I was also wondering if the transmission is going to be the same length with the transfer case adapter. Will I need new drive shafts? I cant find a ton of info on 4x4 swaps.
I would also appreciate some recommendations on engine mount brackets as I am going to be ordering some soon.
Thanks for any input in advance.
Also, how do I ad pictures to my posts? I would like to post pictures and show progress through the process.

It really boils down to the bolt pattern and output spline count/length. In the past I've gone to the junkyard to find things similar to what I'm working on and torn them apart to get a better idea of what I'm dealing with. A little extreme I know but it has almost always worked out in my favor. Advance adapters is also a place for info and questions and they might even have the parts you may need. I want to say yes it will bolt up but I'm not 100% sure. Also, check offroaddesign.com, there's a ton of useful info on there too. As far as engine brackets go, I'm using Dirty Dingo adjustable mounts and I couldn't be happier with them. They made the engine installation a breeze while using the stock GM clamshell mounts. I think you can post pics by pasting the img link from a photobucket (or similar) account. I have an iPad so I just post my pics using the "manage attachments" button at the bottom of your post page

Okay cool thanks for the response,
I was actually hoping to stay away from the sliding mounts because it just adds another variable into the equation. Is there any good quality brand name mounts that will leave my transmission in the exact same location?

Just find a 1" set back mount.

okay ya ill find something that will work.
another question, does anyone know what the recommended amount of CFM for the rad fans would be? I picked up two fans out of a taurus yesterday (I believe from a 3.0 V6) and I think they push a good volume of air but I need to know if it will be enough to keep my 5.3 cool. If anyone knows what a the recommended CFM is for these engines please chym in.
Thanks again for the responses,
I will take some pictures and post them soon.
