    New guy from Tempe AZ

Hello, My name is ken if you havent figured that our yet. i come to your website to learn and hopefully give back eventually in knowledge.

    I have a 2002 Silverado LS 5.3 2wd - purchased yesterday
    Mods are:
    Hypertech
    Auburn LS
    Fiberglass prerunner style fenders
And tomorrow I'll have some Red Label Grabbers on Method MR301 wheels

    Future plans include:
LQ4 with 4L80E which is sitting in my garage
Long travel front and rear suspension - probably McGaughys or Camburg
    Then Modding the LQ4 some - cam/headers/etc

Wish I could get some help on the engine transmission swap

    Also I want to do a 2003 front end swap - fenders/hood/grill/headlights/etc..

And my searching begins lol - if anyone can point me in the right direction that would be most helpful!

Welcome to the site. I spent basically my whole life in Mesa. Moved to queen creek last year. What kind of help are you looking for with the engine?

Cool thanks - well I know the engine will just come straight out and the 6.0 will bolt right in and if i use the 5.3 intake TB and injectors it'll start up and run but I'd need a tune to take advantage of the 6.0.

I also know the stock 4L60 would be short lived behind that 6.0

If I did the trand at the same time....#1 will the rear crossmember need to be modified/shortened/lengthened #2 Will the 4L80 just plug into the 4L60 harness? I have the PCM and TCM for the 6.0 but I'm thinking I need a tuner to get them talking to eachother.

    thanks,

What year is the 6.0 out of? Did it come with the 80e or was that separate. The crossmember will need to be modified for the swap of the 80e and if I am remembering correctly you can use the existing plug from the 60e but it will have to be repinned for the 80e. Check in the swap section and there is a whole 60e to 80e swap thread that explains it in detail.

Are you wanting to do any other mods besides just the engine/trans swap?

Mods he** Yeah - I just bought the hood/fiberwerx glass front fenders/headlights and mounts/grill for the NBS front end conversion - probably 1-2 weeks shipping

At the minimum I'd like to do the LS6 cam swap with valve springs and long tubes - seems that most go with the pacesetter 1.75" coated - then just a tune. Not looking for an animal, but something that is a little special.

For the Trans swap, it's supposed to be a 2005 escalade engine so its supposed to be an LQ9 nut without a bore scope or pulling the heads, I'm assuming it's an LQ4. That being said it's an Engine Transmission combo - they were bolted together. I have the full harness and pedal assembly, PCM and TCM, full accessory drive and accessories.

Suspension in the front will probably be a Camburg long travel with coilovers and bypass shocks. Rear will be just a deaver mini pack till I can muster up some coin to do a dixon bros bolt in bed cage with F87 deavers.

Heres a pic of the grabbers and method wheels...
