    96 k1500 5.7l to 97 corvette LS1 5.7l

I'm looking into putting a 97 LS1 5.7L corvette motor in my 96 K1500 just wondering if anybody has done this. I found a motor with harness and ECM and all the extras just wonder what all I will need to do to get the computer to work with all my interior wiring as well as what else I will need to do to get this to work.

It wouldn't be any different than putting any other LS based engine into an OBS (old body style) vehicle.

1)You will either need a new harness or modify your existing 'Vette harness and graft it into your truck harness.
2)If your truck has the Vortec injected 5.7,(I think it does), your fuel pump is already up to the task.
    3) Your PCM will need to be flashed to remove the VATS(vehicle anti theft system)and run your current 4L60E trans.
4)You will need engine mounts with the 1" setback. Either new mounts or plates with existing clamshell mounts.
5)Possibly need the crank spacer and flex plate to mount up to the trans.
    6) Not sure if the 'Vette exhaust manifolds will fit the truck. Truck LS manifolds do fit these trucks.
7)Oil pan change? Not sure if the 'Vette pan will fit the truck. It may but I'm not sure.

Probably missed some things above. Search the site. Lots of guys here have done LS swaps including myself. Lots of info and helpful guys here willing to answer any questions you may have.

Good luck and welcome to the site.
