    LS7 lifters

I am about done buying parts for a 5.3 build, It was suggested to me to get LS7 lifters. What gain is there in these lifters compared to stock 5.3's? I will not be drag racing but will be on an autocross track sometimes.

The main difference is that the regular lifters are open faced and the LS7 lifters are closed, and the push rod seat is at a different height.

Man, idk what lifters you have there, but my LS7 lifters looked identical to my stock 04 5.3 lifters. And pushrod seat is at the same height as stock truck lifters, which leads me to believe that those are not LS7 lifters. But to the OP, LS7 lifters are the way to go. I mean LS7 will rev to 7,000+ stock so I would trust them, thats what I run

So higher RPM's and durability and the keys to a switch. Still can't decide if it is worth the extra 130.00. I do appreciate the feedback.

GM is using LS7 lifters as standard replacement across the board for every non-DOD LS engine. 4.8 and 7.0 lifters share the same part number. The price difference is what's called "The 'Vette Tax"

its definitely worth the extra 130$
your going to spend the money when one of your non-LS7 lifters collapse and you have to pull the heads back off.

That or buy the Cadillac racing lifters that are lighter weight and even better for high rpm runs.

That's what I was told. If they have a closed face and the higher pushrod plate they are ls7 style. I again being what I was told there is no true LS7 lifter, it is what they were created for and then got used in everything.
