I've been busy tearing my engine compartment apart all day only to find that I can't get the block apart from the trans. I think the two tabs on the block might be corroded in to the holes on the bellhousing or something.
Any tips or tricks?![]()

Are you sure you have ALL the bolts out?
See my truck data in the "My Garage" section here... http://www.ls1truck.com/forums/my-ga...tml#post191709
haha pull harder ....seriously jam a LONG flathead or something in there and jerk the hell out of it it really does seem like its stuck on there but i promise it just needs to be man handled same thing happened to another member on here turns out he just needed a bigger tool lol
...also you might want to have someone lift up on the tail of the tranny because if its unsupported then icraetes a little bind on those pins
BIG TOOLS FTW!!
Barks better than it bites......
like red said... all the bolts out?? even the one at the 12 oclock posisition??
did you get the bolts loose from the flywheel/converter etc etc

Don't pry on the flexplate.
Giving it hell up and down and side to side at the rear of the trans along with WD40 in the bell dowels is the best way but be careful.
I'm guessing the top bolt is still in the bell housing or the converter.flexplate bolts aren't out.
I'm guessing it's stuck like half of them.
i'm gonna do the smart thing and just pull the engine and trans all together, and then wash the trans real good, replace what seals i can get to from the outside, put it all together, and then stab it
