    Metal in oil

Well guy's I have a big problem, I have a 95 chevy with an 03 6.0 LQ4 that has 31K miles on it, I installed a TSP 224R cam, hardened 7.4 pushrod's, double TSP valve spring's, I also installed a Pro Gear timing chain, and a Melling high pressure oil pump. Also I used feeler gauges and centered the oil pump when I installed it. Now for the spec's as is, the engine runs great and has 50 psi oil pressure at idle, and 70-75 at 2K+ rpm's, I never started this engine before I swapped the new parts in so I have no idea if there was a previous problem before I bought it, but the engine looked very clean when I opened it up to install the new part's. The engine might have 3 hour's run time since the first start, almost imeadiatly there was a small amount amount of metal in the oil after the first start, I have changed the oil 3 times trying to flush it out to no avail., when you pull the dipstick out and wipe it off you can see metal on the rag, and I have a temporary manual oil pressure gauge on it right now and now I can see metal in the oil line running to the gauge. So I am figuring that I am going to have to pull it out and either completely go through the motor or toss it and start over with another 6.0. I apprecite any advice you guy's can give me on this. Thank's in advance.

could simply be the oil pump destroying itself or if you hurt a cam bearing while doing the install.

It appear's to be steel, but I will check with a magnet and see for sure, so do you guy's agree that the motor need's to come apart because of possible bearing contamination?

Also, I can't say for sure, but I installed the cam very slowly and easily and it went in easily no forcing anything.

you did use the spacers for the pump right? maybe the chain is rubbing the block? also did you modify the front cover so the pump wouldnt hit it? running good oil pressure i really dont think the motor is hurt in anyway but we never know unless its torn down .. is it more of a powder looking material?

This timing set is a single roller no need for spacer's or mod's to timing cover, and it look's like metal powder.

Ok guy's I drainded the oil out, and it not only has metal in it, but it look's like chocolate milk, so I am going to completely rebuild it, I am wanting to swap on some 243 head's on it while I am doing the rebuild, I would like any advice you can give me about head preference and if anything else will be needed for the hed swap. Thanks
