    Flex plate question.

I put an 06 lq4 in my 04 Sierra. I used the flex plate off my 5.3 to bolt up to the 60e. If I get a 4l80e will I need to go back with the lq4 flex plate? If I do that will I need to get the spacer also?

After looking at the flex plate That came with my lq4, it looks like it has the spacer on it. All I need is an 80e now amd I'm ready to go lol

Oh, I didn't think about that. The converter I go with will determine if I need the spacer or not?

Kinda. Some converters like the 6.0 stock one will use a 6 bolt pattern and require the flex plate with spacer. Some converters use the 3 bolt pattern and will use your dished flex plate like your 5.3 one.

Ok, thanks. Good info to know. I should have searched a little more, probably would have found this out, but I'm being a little lazy.

Just tell the builder what you are putting it in and they can build it to fit. My 80e converter has the standard late model 60e dimensions. It sure made the install easier since i didnt have to go searching for special parts.
