    Southern Performance Headers?

    http://www.southernperformancesystem...-98-truck.html

Has anyone ever used these things in the GMT400 chassis? They aren't cheap like the Shoenfelds but then you can get them larger than a 1.75" primary tube as well which is what I am looking for. I want something in the 1 7/8" range instead for my engine. My only concern is I am going to be running a 4/6 on my truck and these appear to hang below the frame.

Yes I know Shoenfelds are popular but I don't want them as I want something larger.

I have searched most forums and even google and come up with nothing as far as reviews go.

    Anyone?

Did this question come about from my posting last night for that 77 c10? They look to be of decent quality and I didn't come up with any negative reviews from google.

Well I can honestly say what post and what 77 Chev truck to answer your question. I found the company while searching for myself on Google about a month ago and in that time since have found little feedback from any sites I visit including here. From the photos they show of their 89 the headers do hang below the frame rail which may end up making them useless to me being lowered. But then again it depends on how low they actually hang in the chassis. Otherwise if they are no good I am thinking modified big block headers for the GMT400 may be the only way I can go and get what I want.

LOL, i posted this last night and assumed it's where this question came from. http://www.ls1truck.com/forums/perfo...rs-77-c10.html

I haven't known of anyone personally who has used them but the larger tube headers are nicer than the common 1 3/4 everyone else has.
You'll prolly have to contact them about the fitment questions or maybe order them and return if they won't work.

I know the engine compartment is huge in those trucks! Would you be able to alter the angle on the motor mounts to get headers to tuck??

It's big no doubt but clearing the frame rails in the front is more of the challenge. Then again in my case it's more how low things hang under the truck too. Quite a few big block long tubes tuck up high quite nicely and these can do the same. I think I would have to lift the engine to fix that and the transmission gets in the way of that lol. I am going with an F body oil pan for more clearance as I don't want the oil pan below my front crossmember either. If I was staying stock ride height I probably wouldn't care, but I just don't like exhaust being the lowest point of contact.

I will probably have to call them and ask their opinion.
