    LSR Comp Cam??

So I decided to send comp cams, a cam request according to my truck with mods.
My 08 ext cab (heavy) 5.3L, 3.73 gear, 3000 stall truck.

    They recommended Part #54-455-11 with specs : 215/223 .604/.610 112LSA

I dont know a lot about cam specs or what will work well for my truck, but im sure they do. Has anyone tried out these new LSR cams in a similar set up as mine? How do you think it'll perform. My truck is mailny street use, few track outings.

    thanks

thats alot of lift for stock heads. it wont hurt, but still alot of abuse on the drivetrain.

    old mod list: H/C/I/N/E/G 408
new mod list: 5.3, gears/posi, mufler and tune : (

I advised comp that the heads were stock, and the truck is daily driven with very little track time. Thats what they recommended.....
I imagine that quite a bit of testing was done on the cam. When you put the part # on the comp cam website and it opens up this particular cam. It says "LSR™, 265LR HR12
Very Strong Torque & Excellent Response" also "LSR™ Cathedral Port (Small Displacement or Max Torque, 4.8L-5.3L)" and "HYDRAULIC ROLLER-Very strong torque and excellent response. Works best in heavy vehicles, low rpm applications."

it seems like it would be a good cam. just more lift than i would expect on stock heads. the new trend with these motors seems to be huge lift.

    Begine rant

I have been telling people sinse I got on this site to run that exact cam, with similar modifications made to their trucks. It's the same cam I will run on my stock L33 over the winter. I ran that cam on desktop dyno, and compared it to tons of different cams, including the famous 220 cam. This LSr cam makes the best low end torque, hands down. It's just shy of the same higher rpm hp output of the 220 cam, but not enough to want to get rid of all the wonderful torque it makes down low. I will post up the numbers when I get home tonight. RUN THIS CAM!

    End rant
GET OUT OF HERE WITH THAT RICER MATH!

Thunder Racing has it for $389 I believe. I'm gonna be getting a LSr cam also...mine will be a little bigger (223/247 .610/.617 112). I've heard nothing but great things about the LSr line. I say do it!
