New to the swap tech...03 4x4... 5.3 to 8.1 questions

    Hello,

My chevy is nearing its end I'm afraid and its time to look into another motor. Since most motors are about a grand used I might as well put in a larger motor for entertainment purposes.

The 5.3 in it now has 287,000 miles on it and its a 2003 Silverado

    I've found on craigslist an 8.1 8100 out of a 3500
What would I need for this swap????

    Or I've seen a few Lq9s
That swap is mostly plug and play from what I've read other than having to swap driveshafts and input shafts...
    Can someone elaborate on this..

Heres the for sale of the 8.1
this moter is 496 cubic inches. i have all brackets, pulleys, wireharness, computer, power steering, and alternater. moter is complete top to bottom and ready to be droped in. moter has 53,000 miles on it. moter came out of a 2001 chevy 3500 that was wrecked. moter still ran strong when pulled and all spam is reported. im tryen to sell this and im not interested in what you spammers got to sell. MAKE SOME CASH OFFERS
People on the forum tend to abbreviate things and I'm not savvy to the jargon thus far.

    What would you pay??

    Heres the lq9

Came out of a 04 Cadillac Escalade for a ls1 turbo build, has cast iron block and 4 bolt main to my best knowledge. MAKE OFFERS!!!

    What would you pay???

    Thank you in advance

swapping to a 6.0L is just plug and play, no messing with driveshafts what-so-ever. Be sure you get a 2001 or newer with aluminum heads instead of cast iron.

8.1L engine is a fuel hog and you don't get the benefits that you should get when only averaging 8 MPG vs 15 MPG in a 6.0L.
