    Exclamation Oil pressure

Ok so I'm driving home and look down and my oil pressure gauge was maxed out at 80 psi?????? Thought it was a fluke so I shut the truck off let it sit for a few, started it back up and 80 psi right off the bat! I have been just poking around in the truck due to large amounts of water falling lol. I have not sprayed it in 2 months cause I haven't been to the track. So I'm lost at what's wrong??????????? O yeah I have no CES or any other lights on?????

Both sending units and clusters are problematic in our trucks. Find someone with a Tech2 to do a guage sweep test. If that passes replace the sender. Ive replaced many sending units for this problem.

could be the sending unit wire grounding out if it instantly goes to 80psi.

If I were to guess, I would say yes.

Pull the plug out of the OP sensor and see if there is water in it. If yes, blow it out with something. That canned dust spray for cleaning keyboards should work.

if it's got oil pressure then yes, but if the guage/sender is bad and the is no oil pressure then no. but i would go out on a limb and say it would be safe to drive as is since it's saying full pressure.

If you lost oil pressure, your lifters would be the first indication. They would sound like a sewing machine on steroids. Then you would then hear the rods a knocking. I agree with the others - it sounds like a sending unit problem. But if you have to drive it in the interim, put an egg between your foot and the gas pedal.
