    4l60e transmission line help

    for the life of me i cant seam to install those clips onto my 4l60e tranny line do i put the lines in first then the clips?? what is that plastic ring for a dust over?? are there any o-rings on the lines?? do you install the lines first then the clips???? i pretty sure the lines are seated all the way back into the union on the trans !! ive bent one of the clip trying to get it on !!! how hard are they to get on!!!how do you install them plilers screw driver etc!!! would i be better of removing the fittings on the trans then installing the lines to the fitting then installing it as one unit back on the trans????

    Put the clips in and then push the lines in. The plasic piece is just to hold the clips in i think.
    Slowest in Oklahoma...

    this is correct. The c-clip goes on the outside of the fitting and then you push the trans line inside the fitting. Sometimes the ferrule will slip back a little bit and you'll have to put it towards the end of the tube. The plastic clip, not sure but I think its supposed to help retain the clip in position.

    The plastic won't go on all the way if the clip isn't seated and it won't stay under normal pressure if the clip is gone. Don't make it harder than it is...should be a little more difficult to remove than install.
