    lt1 in a 93

well im kinda torn. i might get a good deal on a very low miles lt1 with every thing i need computer and everything. or wait and try to find a good deal on a 5.3. both i will be doin simple mods like cam head work and intake and a tune on the lt1. but if i go with a 5.3 i will convert it to carb. now i think the lt1 will be easier cuz its more like the motor in my 93. btw my truck is a 1993 chevy k1500 z71. what are ur guys opinon?

Lt will be easier, and LT's have allot of after market. But a 5.3 would be cool to. why do you want carb??? you dont like Fuel injection? or just want the power.

Do a carbed 5.3...they have some stand alone ignition systems that are used with the intake and make really good numbers

get a complete salvage yard pullout with transmission intact. Get all accessories and tell the salvage company not to cut any wires, hoses, anything. Tell them to save all bolts that they remove for you also. This will make your conversion a lot simpler and less expensive.

Cant beat the look of the LT1...My 90 model Chevy P/U had an LT1 in it and it looks clean. If you are getting the LT1 out of a camaro you have to notch the frame on the passenger side for the A/C compressor to fit. Benefit of the LT1 is motor mounts and the ability to run your current 700R4 or 4L60E transmission (although I burnt mine up QUICK and had to have it rebuilt) If you decide to go 5.3 I have a full set of front accessories that came off my 60 Impala in place of LS1 accessories. Good luck with your swap....either way you will be happy to get rid of that TBI motor! Ive also got an intake off of a 5.3 with injectors, TB, fuel rail, and 3 piece covers off of a Denali Truck that has the "6000 Vortec" symbol on the middle cover.
