    hi,

    i swap a 1996 LT1 Corvette Engine incl.Transmission (4l60e) into my 1988 Jeep Wrangler.
after 13month of work .. i finished everything, but sone little details are missing.

    1. i´m not able to connect the oil pressure gauge. ´where is the sending unit ? is it the one with the one wire on the back of the engine? or is it not compatible with the jeep gauge?

    2. i bought a obd ii interface for my laptop and now i want to edit the temperature for my cooling fans. is there a free software out there?

    3. the last point is, that the engine will stall after 200meters ...than i can start again and it never stalls again...ideas? errors just P0412 and p0154

    thanks for your help

You need to find someone with a tuning software package. The fans can be editted but it has to be done with licensed software. You also need the VATS disabled. A VATS simulator works sometimes but like what you're seeing, it doesn't work every time.

Tee off the oil pressure port and add your Jeep sensor to the engine.

is the factory jeep gauge elec or mech? if its electric have you tried hooking the wire off of the sender to the jeeps gauge wire?? the guage will probally read incorrect but what do you expect, its a conversion. and i doubt there is a free version of software that can do disable the factory security and adjust parameters in the pcm... you can buy the sofware to do it 600 bucks give or take a few $, or have it dyno tuned for about 400 and gain the ability to drive your car, and the mpg,hp, and tq you will gain from that and you wont have to worry about learning a new program...

I'm putting a 6.0 in my 88 YJ right now. You can tap into the block and install the jeep sending unit, or do without and install a custom guage. I'm putting new guages in mine. ~LeeV

if oyu call around an average guy can re tune moderately everything on obdII for a little over 100 bucks. I prefer on board tuning as opposed to pcm send offs.
