deff was a learning experience lol
but i still have not figured out how to get my stock spedo, water temp, or gas level gauge has anyone elso had this problem??
any ifo that can help me out would be greatly appreciated
as of right now im using the spedo on my radar and have a aftermarket water temp gauge in the truck but i would like for the stock gauges to work as i do like them very much

use the stock 89 water temp gage. Speedo, haven't done one in a 89, its a little different that my 93-93s. Have you tried tieing the speedo sensor pickup to the factory truck speedo wiring? If it doesnt work the first time, reverse the wiring.

Fuel level should not have been affected, its in its on wiring loom coming from by the steering column, going to the fuel tank. You may have damaged it when swapping pumps. Or forgot to ground the fuel tank on the frame.

have not tried anything on the spedo we will try doing that though
i checked the wiring for the fuel tank and it is grounded back to the same location where i removed it from il just have to check into in more i guess

do they make an adapter for the water temp sending unit so it will work correctly?? or will it screw into the 5.3?

You'll likely need an adapter. You can get them through Welcome to Street & Peformance or Summit Racing – High Performance Car and Truck Parts l 800-230-3030 . I think the water temp adapter is 12mm x 3/8 npt but may be different on your engine. I trust the guys at S&P to get it right. They can get you an oil pressure adapter, too, if you want to do one of them. Many people just tap the oil cooler return block above the oil filter.

    temp gauge

You could also get a temp switch for the 98 camaro and use the tps sensor wires from the tbi harness and that would allow the ecm to receive its signal and send the signal to your dash.

the temp reading will be way off using the 98 sending unit. Tried and failed.
