    Skinny Chickens Turd

Well here it is 2003 z71. Bought the truck 2 years ago with 60,000 miles on it for my work truck. This is my company truck so it see's alot of miles. First thing that was done was a single chamber flowmaster because I had it left over from another project. Thats were it all started I got a nelson tune about a year later and was very impressed. I now get 19 mpg on the hwy and drive it like I stole it. As it sits as of feb 2012 it has 192,000 miles and ready for a complete do over.

I painted the grill, bumpers and removed the lift blocks from the rear. I cranked the torshon bars down to level it. I also removed the z71 stickers from the bed. Soon I will be removing all the trim.

Soon to come will be a lq9 and 4l80e from a 2004 esclade. I found a set of L92 heads on e bay. Ordered headers, cam kit, gaskets, ARP bolts, still need to order stall from circle d, injectors, intake and a 2 stage plate kit.
I will also be doing grears and trutrack and turbo when i get everything sorted out and ready. My goals are really high for this truck, 11 sec quarters are hopefully in reach. I will sill drive this turd as my work truck so as long as I can. If I cant drive it everyday their is no fun in it. I will update this as soon as I start the mods. Sorry for the crappy pics they will get better

Well plans have changed for the time being. I will be adding the parts that were planned for the 6.0 to the 5.3. I have a 228/228 .588 .588 112lsa cam, pac double springs, lifters, lifter trays, ARP bolts, timing chain, headers, and 3200 stall that I will be using for the short term until I can get my ducks in a row. I dont want to add the 6.0 to a crappy 4l60e trans right now since I have to drive it everyday. I might be changing jobs here shortly and will get a company truck so I can do whatever I want without the downtime problem. I will have a tranny built over the next few months and start collecting parts for the Turbo build on the 6.0.

Well shes all together now with about 700 miles on the clock. I went with the 228r cam, PAC .675 springs, new oil pump, 7.4 pushrods, circle d 3200, pacesetter headers all in the 195,000 mile 5.3 for now. I haven't had but a couple issues with the build so far so im very happy with everything. I have a few exaust leaks to weld up because of the junky exaust clamps that come with the y pipe. I had a bad oil sender unit, but everything is running great. Im getting 18.5 mpg wich I didnt expect at all but the city mpg SUCK with the converter. The cam sounds nasty and I get a ton of double takes wondering wth is in that truck. I have some big plans for the truck in the near future in the quest for a streetable 11 sec truck. A big thanks to BMGBOY (kirk) for the help on the build and the use of the shop.
