    knock sensor

i cannot figure out why this code will not go away. i have an 02 2500hd with the 6.0. it has a comp cam (p/n 54-451-11), comp cam programmer, 3" dual exhaust, and cold air intake. right before the cam swap the light came on and now it will not go away. about a week ago the code was an 0331 now it changed to 0332. i changed both knock sensors and the wiring to them because there was some corrosion on the plugs. checked both grounds on the back of the motor, good fuel pressure, and some other stuff. any ideas.

    P0331- Knock Sensor2 Circ Range/Perf (bank2)
    P0332- Knock Sensor2 Circ Lo Input (bank2)

Number 2 sensor is supposed to be the rear one. I wonder if maybe the wiring is bad in the harness or the pin isn't making good contact in the PCM connector. Maybe you overtorqued the sensor when you installed it. It's only supposed to be tightened to a specific torque value, otherwise you can ruin it during installation.

That's what I was gonna say - what did you torque it to?

These engines have some trouble with KS corrosion. I usually replace both sensors and the harness (it gets brittle). It's also a good idea to remove the foam insulation on each end of the intake and seal the front half (only) of the KS seals on the valley cover to keep water running to the back from settling in the holes. Too bad you've done most of that. The toque value is low as mentioned....15 ft/lb.

Could it be piston slap? That is what i think is throwing my code. Also i know alot of guys that tune will turn the knock sensors off after a cam.

Hope this help if it is not the wiring.
