Newbie with a tranny to engine question...

Will i be able to use my 700R4 that is already in my 89 chevy when i finally get to put the 6.0L in or will i have to get a 4L60E? I'm pretty sure everything would bolt up the same but i'm not sure about the wiring...i was thinkin when they built the harness and flashed the PCM they'd be able to make it work together but i don't know? Can anyone give me some insight on this??

I think there is an adapter plate out there to do this, or maybe its for the 6.0 to run an older tranny, but i cant remember. Maybe someone has some input.

Get a 4L80e for your conversion. You'll need it eventually after you break the 700r4 and one or two 60e transmissions.

It would require a spacer for the flexplate and the pcm could be programmed for a manual transmission. Shouldn't be a problem other than longevity because of the newfound power like the others stated You would also have to fab something up to mount the tv cable to the throttle body...bowtie overdrives might have something you could use.

So it seems that everyone is thinkin the 700 won't take the power? I wasn't sure since the guy that built it for me said it should take around 500hp...without tearin it up...
