    2000 5.3l & 4l60e wont start

Got all my wirring and plumbing done tonight so I thought I would see if it would start.
Engine cranks fine and sounds like one cylinder is trying to fire.
Sounds like all eight are hitting when you spray fuel in the throttle body.
I have not had the PCM reprogrammed YET.
I have 12v at the injectors and coils. I did not have my noid lights with me so I will check that and fuel pressure in the morning.
Is it posible that VATS is causing it to not start?

It's in just tieing up the loose ends.

I know that VATS was an issue on my LT1 swap. with no PCM tuning it could very well be the issue.

Does anyone know exactly what VATS does to cause the no start?
The reason I ask is because I checked with a noid light and the comp. was pulsing the injectors.
Still have not gotten a pressure tester hooked to it yet so that may also be an issue.

Vats will pulse the injectors for about 5 seconds max and then it's lights out.

here is what mine did and what I did to fix it. I did have a programed PCM from Nelson Performance so I know my VATs were off and everything was good to start with. Mine had sat for a while before I got it and teh injectors gumed up. they were pulsing and everthing but no fuel could go thru I unhooked my coil packs and raised my injector fuel rail and all teh injectors I hooked them up one at a time and had my son turn the engine over while I tapped on the injector till it sprayed fuel. I did this on all 8 then returned them hooked it up and it fired u p the first time. After checking your fuel pressure I would check that.
    Good luck

Do you have a injector pulse? are the coils firing? Check the crankshaft position sensor and wiring. My truck that I got the motor out of was hit hard in the front down low. The crossmember pushed the staterup and pinched the CTS wires about three inches away from the sensor. I drove me nuts for a while cause I had changed the CTS and nothing changed. Jim
