I'm going to document the complete process and then post it after i'm done.
Does anyone have any information on what is involved with this conversion. I have a customer that is ready to go forward on the swap. I know I can do this swap and there's not much to it, I just wanted to know what parts will be involved and try to get most of them before I start. Anybody have any info or a site for this swap.
    I'm swapping the 4.3L for an LS6 engine, 2002 Silverado/auto.

Is there anything else besides this stuff:

    v8 harness
    engine
    mounts
    pcm

    -will the starter fit
-will the radiator be big enough
    -will the clutch fan fit

    any other info is appreciated,

    allen

    Hey Allen
Just go to the bone yard and take all the boltons from a V8 incluing mounts and A/C lines. Dont forget that whaterpump you will need that discharge tube on the top of the pump. You will also need the truck oil pan and I would also get the exaust Y pipe and manifolds. don't forget the wiring, PCM and intake plumbing. The most common items to forget about while you are at the boneyard are:
    MAF
    V8 fuel pump and plumbing
    Evap and solenoids
fan shroud (the v8 shorter shroud)
5.3 HARMONIC BALANCER (different from the LS1)

Oh man that is gonna be fun. I can't wait for the write up.
I would think the radiator would be ok. Could you just go with efans instead of the fly swatter? That way you would not need to find a shroud.

You could measure the location of the motor mounts on a v8 truck the next time you have one your tuning. That should at least make the placement easy.

Are you getting a engine with the accessories already? How about the tranny. Is the bellhousing the same Heck, thats stuff I would like to know!

I wish I knew more to help you with but I will probably just be asking more questions....

Bwhahahah! That's what I call them too.

BTW... Allen I got my Z71 rad in my garage I am SICK of staring at. And a fan, clutch, and shroud. All the stuff came off in good working order from my truck so lemme know if you want that stuff. I'll bring it to the GTG up herre on the 24th (i think that's the day)

PS...I am plannin a Diablo chip for the Ford pretty soon! Next is a high flow 75mm MAF then get the valve body setup properly, then the chip!
