I'm doing a 4.3 to '05 5.3 as we speak.
I'll try and tell you a few things that I can remember.
You'll need v-8 frame mounts and motor mounts for the 93. You will need a set of adapters. You can get them off of ebay for about $40.00.
If you know how, you can cut down your harness out of the '00. If not, I would get with Nelson Performance. He has a custom harness for GEN III engines; very nice too.
You will retain some of your old harness to keep your factory gauges working. The rest, to make it neat, you can cut away. You also need a tach signal divider to make your dash tach work if you have one.
You need a newer fuel pump. I would just go ahead and do the Walbro.
To keep a/c, you will have to notch the frame or use the Street and Performance compressor.
You have to figure out what to do for a cooling fan; belt driven or electric.
If you have a v-6, you might think about a bigger radiator.
I got lucky and with the engine and trans in, the crossmember lined up perfect and a driveshaft from an automatic trans truck went right in.
Theres more, but I'll have to remember.

Cool man thanks
I did the exact same swap (93 chevy,Automatic, 5.7 to 5.3L from 2002 silverado) mine is 4WD
some things needed
*crankshaft spacer
*motor mount adapters
*starter
*Alternator
*power steering pump
*custom y pipe with 2 o2 sensor bungs
*high pressure fuel pump (got mine from summit, edelbrock part #EDL-3581)(it's actually a walbro pump)
*wire
*relays
*custom PCM program
I would definately recommend getting a subscription to Alldata as I did (or something similar) for your 1993 and the vehicle the new engine came from. It will help a great deal with wiring.
I also learned a great deal from the people on this board (very knowledgable)
