DTC P1631. Theft Deterrent Start Enable Signal Not Correct.

Thats what the code is. The truck is an hour away from me. Does anyone know if a Snap-On MT2500 diagnostic scanner and turn it off with 2006 updates?

Thats the computer I have. Or does anyone else know how to turn it off?

No, a scanner will not eliminate your problem. You may be able to clear the code, but only temporarily, it will reset soon enough. As has been stated before, you need to turn VATS off in your PCM's program.

You've asked this question in other threads and the answer is the same. Anyone who has a tuner package for your year and body style (truck, f-body, y-body etc.)can do the job. You can either go with a vendor (Allen) or someone else who has the software for their own personal use. If you are going to tinker with the PCM you might as well do your tuning at the same time to save money. If you are really bucks down, there are vendors who tune for a lower price but the term "you get what you pay for" may apply here.
