Anyone have any suggestions on breaking this baby loose? I've tried an impact, break over bar etc.....and it won't budge!!! Are the threads right or left handed on the LS1? I've even tried hitting the wrench with a hammer with no luck. The engine is out of the truck and I know the motor will try to turn over but that shouldn't stop me. Has anyone else had this problem before?

    Thanks, Lance

Might not be the smartest way but both times I have taken mine off I just jammed a breaker bar through the balancer up against the block and wedged it in. Then broke the bolt loose.

It's a right handed thread. It should be tough as hell to remove. You'll need a breaker bar to loosen it. Put an old flywheel on the transmission end and hook a chain through the holes and then to the exhaust manifold. After than you can crank away at the bolt counter clockwise from the front of the engine. There is thread locker in the bolt so it's going to be tough to break loose.

Cool! Thanks for you guys input! I didn't know about the thread locker. I'll give her another try tonight. I just didn't want to break anything.

Got the bastard! That had to be one of the tightest bolts I've broke yet on a motor!

Nice impact! That's what I buy my guys at work. I thoughbt I was gonna have to borrow one of our 2" drive impacts but I'd need a little help to hold it LMAO
