    headers

I've got a 1990 rcsb Silverado 4x4 that I will be putting a l92 with a 6l80 in and I'm having a hard time finding 1-7/8 long tube headers. Anyone have any suggestions? I know I can have some made but don't really want to spend that much money. Can I get some meant for a newer truck and make them work?

Check into shoenfeld they make conversion long tubes for our trucks. Just not sure if they'll work on a 4wd drive though.

I already gave them a call, 1-3/4 are the biggest they make and no 4x4. I'm going to do some measuring on my 03 sierra to see how close the frames are.

The Pace Setter Part No: 72C2265 is a long tube 1 3/4 that fits the obs 4x4. They are showing that they make a 1 7/8 primary now under the part number 72C2266. I don't know if it works or not but it is very similar to the one that does.

Just stick with the 1 3/4. You will never notice the difference with the 1 7/8 plus you will probably have a little more torque down low with 1 3/4 headers.

That really depends on the build. An L92 is a strong motor stock if he plans on spraying it at any point or a big cam then he will most certainly notice a difference.

I ordered the 1-7/8 pacesetters. I think they will fit, if I cant make them fit I'll try something else. cam should be in today, and the spray will come later so I figured the bigger headers would be better in the long run, because i'm thinking a turbo and heads will come down the road.

Yea they fit with little modification. Put a couple small dents in them and havent had a problem yet.

Did you post any pics of your finished exhaust? I'm going with 1 3/4" headers because my engine will be stock for a long time, plus it's the LQ9 so it'll have plenty of power for me especially with a tune. No spray or twin screws for this guy LOL
