    05 408ci to 2012 truck

    Just like the title says I'm wanting to put my 408 from my 05 into my 2012. Besides the reluctor wheel what all will I need to change? Id like to keep the cam that's in it their but it gets came signal from the back and the truck now get from the front. Can I just hook it up to the back like its going to be on the motor I'm putting in?

    Converter box for crank signal

    so just use the front cover off the truck now? and what timing set? id like to keep a double roller like whats on it now. and no one makes the conveter box for the crank yet. they have them for the 58 to 24 if you were going to put a new motor in a older truck but not the 24 to 58

    you need a 58x crank gear and 4x cam gear. you will also need a 58x crank sensor .
    the gen III are 24x crank and 1x cam gear.

    You do not need a new crank..

    Depending on the timing set now you should be able to find the correct gear set. Yes use front cover unless the truck is vvt

    Ya its vvt. I knew had to change to the 58x just gonna send crank off to have it swapped out. What cover should I look for then.

    you can run the ligenfelter box that swaps the crank signal over

    lingenfelter only has a box taht converts 58x to 24x. not 24x to 58x. im in the same situation, been wanting put a gen iii motor into a gen iv truck.

    Lingenfelter DOES make a 24x to 58x. Call them. They're holding out on sending them out right now I believe due to some testing issues.

    i had emailed them a few months ago, they said they had a prototype box. however, didn't mention anything about when it'd be released.
