motor mount location

Ok. So, I put my adapter plates and attach my motor mounts to my L33. As I am wrestling with it, I realize that the holes I selected arent lining up. So I pull the engine and attempt move the plates forward (which looks about righ) but there is a big a$$ brass / copper sensor in my way. What is this for and what can I do to bypass / get around this?

It's not a sensor, it's the block heater you need to unscrew it and replace with drain plug. 11609289 (GM part number) Fit L33 block.
