    4l65 done?

Drove to austin today on the way back the truck felt "heavy" it would downshift with the lightest press of the accelerator pedal. And needed to drop to 2nd to move the truck. Also on a hill by the house it was shuddering at about 20 mph under slight load. Its a 4.8 with tsp 220 n 3200 circle d stall stock tranny. It drove fine on the way up there n trans temps never passed 170. Is it time to upgrade or?

It was 107+F outside today, IATs were probably through the roof. When the engine can't make power the trans will act funny. Let it cool down and see if it acts any different.

The more I think about it the more I want you to build my 80e. I am considering doing it sooner rather than later while I am "in the neighborhood"

To the OP I wouldn't risk beating on it. The current trans might still be worth a little something when you pull it, but blown its worth pennies. Get Kenny to build you a new trans before it blows so you can recover a little money and not worry about it.

It didn't throw any codes? My truck used to throw a code every blue moon because of the converter and it would either shift funny or not shift at all (stay in 3rd all the time) until I cleared the codes. It doesn't do it anymore but it did for the first year the converter was in.
