Will my truck run without tune?

Gonna be doing an lq4 swap into my 04 1500 Sierra In the next couple days. My question is, will my truck start and run without the tune? I'm gonna be in touch with a tuner to get a mail order in the way, but I expect to have the motor in before it gets here, plus I'm gonna have to track someone down to do the crank relearn. Also, are there any other things I need to pick up other than the engine it's self? Thanks in advance!!

If it is a v8 to start with it should run. I swapped from a 4.8l to a 5.7l in my 02 and drove it awhile on the stock tune.

Like he said. Ya. It'll run just fine. If it don't something wasn't done correctly. I wouldn't recommend racing it but feel free to enjoy the extra power.

i went from 5.3 to lq4 6.0 in my 00 z71, it maybe hard to start and will most likely take alot to crank before it starts be patient the computer is learning each time you crank, i almost gave up and was fixing to do a relearn then that last try it fired off hahaha that was over a year ago and i still run the damn 5.3 tune whats even worse i own hptuners lmao

you'll be fine until you can get it tuned for optimal performance !!

Another question guys. Should I get the PCM that is with the 6.0 and use in my truck or just leave the one that's in my truck already until i get a tune?

Just use the one in your truck.
