New Member From Georgia Checking In

    What's up everyone?

Awesome site and I am really taking in the great content and networking possibilities.

I have a 89 C1500 with the factory 5.7 / 700R4 and will be going to a LS based powerplant soon, I have 3 grand saved so far and the fund continues to grow as I absorb all the pertinent threads here.

Located in the North Georgia area and also interested in meeting some local members to compare ideas.

Thanks for the opportunity to introduce myself and I am immensly enjoying the forum.

    Regards

You could start out with a 4.8 and then go to a 5.3 or 6.0. Cheaper way to start and you will already have the swap done. Then build the longblock you want. Nice looking truck to start off with. Welcome.

Thanks for the welcome fellas, looking hard at the 5.3 with a 4L60 tranny, pricing everything from having it done turn key to doing it myself. The idea of doing it myself is appealing but the idea of having a shop do a turn key install with warranty is also interesting.

Was thinking 5.3 with moderate cam and a tune, currently looking for sites or contacts that have low mileage "less than 50,000" pull outs and I'm not afraid to pay a little more for a good example.

Thanks for the props on the pickup, its my style which is smooth and tasteful and after engine and tranny mods are finished I will be looking at a 3/4 static drop to round it all out.

Still so much to read here, think I will just be a sponge and soak as much in as possible.

You can do it yourself, it will be cheaper. And also I'm sure there are guys local to you that will help you out. Plus this forum.
