ok guys she still runs good i had her idleing for about 40 min water circ fans running she was at 205 and oil press at 35-40 psi i do have some kind of a problem caus she tried to die again all of a sudden I only put 2 gal of gas in the tank but i don't think it would run out that quick ?? even with a preformance tune but who knows. guess in need to put a computer on it and see what codes its picking up every thing seams good so it has to be fuel or the puter trying to kill it for some reason 90 octain is the best i can get around here maby thats not good enough for my tune, don't know if the open headers could caus the o2 sensors to do something funny. im going to work on the rest of the truck for now caus i know she runs and has good pressure and manners, any comments or advice is good thanks guys. oh by the way how blessed i am, i live 35 min from texas speed they told me they would change the cam, push rods, springs and throw it on the dyno and tune it for max rwhp and id be out the door for less than a grand wooohooo, i need to rewire some harnesses and make some money to get that done....rob

For starters, the fuel pump needs fuel on it to prevent overheating. I'd put more fuel in it before trying to over-do the diagnostics. Also make sure it has the proper fuel pressure when it dies. Another thing that happens is if the water temp sensor sees too much heat, such as from steam, it will put the computer in limp mode and shut off half the cylinders from firing and use raw fuel to cool the engine. I'm not sure on the internal programming logic as if it randomly rotates which cylinders it shuts off or just does specific cylinders.

red heart beat that makes alot of sense caus it kinda sounds like it quits hitting on all cylinders like the puter is doing it and even though i was circulating Im sure that the engine is still trying to burp some air out caus every once in awhile the water tank would start riseing and running over when i killed the engine it went down to nearly empty, also not to mention when the engine was shipped to me the temp sensor was broke off, so i replaced it they had two listed one was 10 bucks the other was 27 bucks the guys at napa said that the 10 dollar one went in the front of the head i hope i got the right one, also this thing did the very same thing the first time i started it and i could not get the water circulating caus my water bottle was mounted a little to low and i did not have the block full of water, although it happende sooner. witch makes sense . it idles with out missing a beat for a long time the boom all of a sudden the starts sputtering and tries to die. but there is no mechanical noise it just sounds like it quits hitten on all 8
