    4l60 wont go into over drive... help

    after my truck went over 100k miles the tranny messed up and wouldnt go into over drive. so i got it rebuilt and its done awesome until this weekend. i left the gas station and noticed it wouldnt down shift from third unless i manually did it. so i had to drive all the way home in 3rd. parked and stayed pissed until the next day. i got in it and it drove just fine and went into OD and everything. i only have 400 miles or so until the warrenty is up so i took it back to the shop so they could check it out. got any ideas what might be wrong?

    3-4 clutch maybe?

    3-4 clutch pack is toast is my guess...

    can't be the 3/4 clutch pack if he has third gear. I would suspect its a shift solenoid since second and fourth share one, and if the pcm determined it wasn't functioning correctly, guess what you get default third gear. I would check the solenoid and wiring, the valve body would be the next suspect. good luck hope this helps

    I didn't read that it wouldn't downshift. Also a possibility^

    Sounds minor like a solenoid.
