HELP with RCA hook up for new Head unit.

Sooooo, my new head unit (DUAL XDVD700) comes with 2 RCA's for Front, Rear, and a single RCA for the sub. I'm running two, 2 ch amps, 300w for my mids and highs, and a 1200w for my subs.
My question is, how should I plug in the RCA's from my head unit? Should I run the Front RCAs to my 300w amp then to my front and rear speakers and the Rear RCAs to my subs and leave the single RCA that's meant for the sub unplugged? Or should I get a mono amp for my sub and a 4 channel for my mids and highs.

I don't even know if I'm explaining this right. Someone help me out here.

Lol ok so you got two 2 channel amps, one is dedicated to your sub while the other is for mids/highs correct?

Alrighty if so just hook up your mids/highs amp to your Front/Rear pre-outs (RCA's) while your sub amp shall go to the sub pre-outs. This is so you have control of your sub's output from the deck along with its EQ/fader properties. Simple right?

Yup. i thought it was gonna be simple. Only problem is that I'm thinkin I won't have the fade and balance ability.
From my deck there are a left and right RCA for the Front and a left and right RCA cable for the rear, and a single RCA for the sub for a total of 5 cables. My mig/high amp only has one left and one right RCA input. So I'm confused on how to plug them in. I could just not plug in the front RCAs. I really don't fade from front to back that often, ever really, but I don't want to distort my sound quality.

As for the RCA for the sub, there is only one cable. No left and right so that has me confused.

Very simple. Two channel amp won't fade front to rear anyway. Run one set of rca's with two speaker leads to the mid/high amp. Hook the rca's to the front output on the deck and use the speaker leads you ran to connect both right speakers to one and both left speakers to the other. I usually connect them using the aftermarket radio harness so you can leave the factory wiring alone and you know which speaker is which. Cap the speaker outputs from the radio. After you are done test it, balance left to right to make sure it is hooked up right. If you balance left and sound comes from the right, alternate the rca's left to right(easiest). For the sub, get a y-adapter and plug it into the sub output and run normal rca's so you can have sub control if you want it. If you don't care about sub control(it is nice to have) you can just use the rear outputs. Most mono amps still have a left and right input. Let me know if you need further assistance.

AWESOME. That really sounds simple and makes sense now.
LO-LYF, what type of rims do you have on your truck. They're the same as mine but I have no clue what brand or model they are. Thanks for the help bro.

Especially when you get pulled over, so you can cut the sub off and say "No officer. It's not hooked up, i just picked up the subs." worked for me

Racing is a real sport. Because football, baseball, soccer, and golf only require one ball.

They are SenDel S12. They are discontinued. I found center caps on eBay from a place called gogreentires???? Make sure you get the center caps for 22's because the ones they sent me for 20's didn't fit. Also, you will have to find your own emblems for the centers because they do not come with them. They also have the rivets that go along the rim.

^+1. Also when you use the sub outputs the head unit usually has a crossover built in that will not let certain high frequencies get to the sub which is nice to have if the amp doesnt have a crossover. On my truck I just wired a bass knob that came with my amp and most amps have a cat5 input to wire a bass volume or bass boost knob and put it between the seat and console so I can turn off the subs quickly without having to go through the head unit menu so the cops wont see my wiper blades flapping up off the windsheild from the bass

Most sports require one ball, motocross requires two.

Racing isn't a matter of life and death, it's much more important than that.
