    bit of a tick?

Hey Im new to the forum and Ls truck power! Just got a good used 2500HD with lq4 a few weeks ago. Runs good and is getting good mileage/power etc. No start up knock yet? but I do have a slight tick at about 2000rpm and sometimes at idle. Sounds like a lifter/valvetrain tick? I have heard about seafoam and using synthetic but Im looking for first hand experiance. Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated. Its got 176000km and does not seem to use any oil etc. Thanks for the help guys and Im enjoying the site so far.

LS engines are known for this knock. I've been told it's nothing to worry about unless it gets really loud. If you do a search, there are quite a few threads on this subject and they will all tell you it's normal. I have an 04 Silverado and it does it for about a minute after I start it. I've used the Lucas fuel treatment and have always used 5w-30 Mobil 1 synthetic and it hasn't changed. No worries.

Thanks for the reply but it is not the startup knock/tick that everyone talks about. It sounds like slight fuel knock or lifter tick? It only seems to do it at about 2000 rpm and only under certian loads. It seems that I may need to change my knock sensor. Code p0327 low voltage front knock sensor? Not sure if this is the problem yet as I still have to check the wiring at that harness and ecm for corrosion. Would this cause this noise? Thanks again
