    fuel pump issues

So I am still having issues with my swap, the problem I have is that my truck will idle for a couple min then die. Go to turn it over again and the pump won't turn on. Thinking that maybe the computer was acting up I wired the fuel pump right to an ignition wire and I still have the same issues. I think I got a bad pump but its not that old or could it just be getting to hot? I just thought I would ask you guys for any input you may have before I spend money on a new pump.
    Thanks,
    Travis

put a fuel pressure gauge on the fuel rail and turn the pump relay on manually by applying 12v to the wire the PCM normally puts power to. once its up to pressure disconnect the power and monitor the gauge to be sure fuel isn't being leaked into the cylinders. Once you're sure the injectors are sealed put 12v back to the relay and let the fuel pump run, it should run all day without any issues if you have fuel in the tank. If it shuts down then there is a pump issue. It could be that the pump isnt getting sufficient voltage and is overheating. The factory wire is a little small for a walbro, that is why many go for the racetronix fuel pump relay harness. If it runs continuously for 10 minutes when hardwired, then I would suspect the tune needs the vats/passkey turned off.

Also, are you watching the gauges? Are all readings in the normal range?
