I went scavaging the yard to day to find a engine harness for my lq4 swap. I found a silverado with a vortec in it, not sure of engine size or year but it had a vortec that was drive by cable. Here is the model truck I found in the pic. I was under the impression the silverados' were all drive by wire? If I get the harness out of this silverado can I use it with my 04 van lq4, and van 2004 ecm? Thanks.
Are you sure it wasn't a 99-02 V8 or even a V6?
No it was that body style in the picture. It had the vortec engine cover like on the 5.3 and 6.0. i know it was newer than 02/
Maybe somebody had transplanted the front end...It happens.
I'll find out tomorrow what year and engine size it is, but it really don't look like it's been transplanted. unless they changed the front, back, interior and everything else lol.
If it has the Green/Blue PCM connectors it will work.

if you take the accessory drive bracket off it will be cast on the block what size the engine is. If it has 317 heads and the engine has been unmolested its a 6L.

My lq4 is out of a 2006 van and it is drive by cable
my 5.3/4l60e came out of a 2002 silverado, DBC
I think 2002 is the last year before they changed the style. And van's do come with drive by cable. Thats what confuses me i was told the vans were dbc and the silverados and suv's were dbw. Anybody got a 03-06 silverado that can verify this?
