    Cool Security code

Well upon my return from being deployed to Afghanistan I discovered my stereo in my truck bit the big one. So until I can figure out which one I want to reinstal I was gonna reinstal my factory radio, but my question is this. Where and how can I get the security code for my radio? Only temporary measures.... Other bills come first.

Welcome back....I don't think you need a code on 2004s. If the security feature has been activated, I think it just goes off the VIN from the BCM.
I could be wrong, but have you tried plugging it in yet?

It is the one that came out of his truck, so it should be good.

Thank you for the welcome back! I was gonna plug it in tomorrow sometime. Yeah it is my stock cd/ tape deck stereo that came in the truck factory. Was told by a friend it would need the security code and that is why I was asing.

if its your original radio just plug it in, if its out of a different truck it needs to be programmed
